Along with many other features, Plenty Of Fish dating, at some point around 2012, removed the ability to create your own subject line to go with your message. Now when you send a message to someone on POF the subject line is the same thing for every message everyone sends which is (at the moment of this writing) a very generic and boring 'Hi' which makes it just a little bit harder to stand out from the rest of the messages. Another move to push more users to upgrade to their paid, upgraded membership? Even with a paid membership you still can't customize the subject of the message ... or can you??

How to Hack Email Messages on POF and Create your Custom POF Subject Line Text Instructions

1. Log into POF with Google Chrome browser. You can do the same thing with some other browsers but Chrome is the easiest.
2. On the profile page of the person you wish to send a message, scroll down to the green button that reads Send Quick Msg.
3. Right click on this button.
4. On the pop up menu that appears click on Inspect. This will open up the Chrome code inspector window where the html code is for the button with the code highlighted. Just above that code look for a code line that reads <input maxlength="40" name="subject" size="33" type="hidden" value="Hi">. That is the textbox for the subject line of the email and as you can see by the code type="hidden" is why this is hidden.
5. To unhide it, double click on the word "hidden". This will select that text and allow you to change it.
6. Change to text from "hidden" to "text". Click anywhere on the profile page and you will see the subject textbox appear with the word Hi in it. You can now enter any subject line you wish!
