By default, the Amazon Fire TV automatically shares all your Amazon Fire TV data usage. This step by step guide will show you how to shut down all that sharing of your Amazon Fire TV device data usage.

To Disable Amazon Fire TV Privacy Invasions

  5. Press the Enter button or Select button for the Amazon remote control so that you are taken to the Preferences page for the Amazon Fire TV.
  6. Use the Amazon Fire TV remote control navigation ring to scroll down until Privacy settings is selected and press the Enter or Select button on the Amazon Fire TV remote to go to your Amazon Fire TV privacy settings.
  7. The first Amazon Fire TV privacy setting breach we want to correct is the Device Usage Data which is nobodies God damned business, which should be shown as ON. We want to turn this OFF. Click this menu item.
  8. Select and click to turn off this privacy invasion.
  9. The next Amazon Fire TV privacy Invasion we want to correct is Collect App Usage Data which should be shown as being ON. We want to turn this privacy invasion OFF. Click this menu item.
  10. Again, select and click to turn off this privacy invasion.
  11. The final Amazon Fire TV privacy Invasion we want to correct is Interest-Based Ads which again should be indicated as being ON. Click this menu item.
  12. Once again, select and click to turn this privacy invasion off.

At this point, all three privacy setting invasions should be turned off ...

  1. Device Usage Data should be OFF.
  2. Collect App Usage Data should be OFF.
  3. Interest-Based Ads should be OFF.

Extra Precautionary Step to Ensure Amazon Fire TV Device Usage Privacy

While the visual indicators of your Amazon Fire TV will no show that your privacy is assured, the question arises as to whether you can and/or should trust these visual indicators of privacy.
