00:02 In this video I am going to reveal to you a video MP4 downloading bookmarklet that allows you to download videos from YouTube and other sites that have video that try to prevent you from downloading their video.
00:16 In case you didn't know, if you try to download a video from YouTube it's almost impossible. If you right click the video and look at the inspect window and try to get the URL of the video, there's not really a web address. The video address reads blob: and then a URL and then if you copy that and then try to paste it and download it you get a PAGE NOT FOUND from YouTube.

We had some earlier articles that we published not too long ago that showed you how to do this manually in Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Firefox. This bookmarklet just makes it a whole lot easier.
01:00 The way this Download YouTube Video Bookmarklet works is there are a couple of preliminary steps you have to take first. The bookmarklet is down just a little bit right. Here is the link to the video download bookmarklet. Drag it up and drop it to your bookmarks bar wherever you wish. You have to have your bookmarks bar visible in your web browser. You drag it and drop it off at your bookmark bar and here it is the link to the video download bookmark.
01:29 Then you go to the video you want to download, you press F12 on your keyboard which is going to open up the web browser developers panel. The idea here is you want to make YouTube, or whatever site has the video you want to download, you want to make it look like you're coming from a mobile phone. The best results come from selecting one of the iPhones.
01:50 Then what you do is press F5 on the keyboard to refresh the browser with the new settings. The process is pretty much identical in Internet Explorer or Firefox or Google Chrome. Now you want to make sure the video is playing. If there's an ad playing you have to bypass it, then once the video starts playing all you do is click on the bookmarklet.
02:12 A new window is going to open with that video playing in it and you'll be able to right click on it save video as and then the file download box it will appear and you'll be able to download that MP4 video.
02:30 Really pretty easy, but I'll go through it one more time to make sure you understand. So once again you go to the video press F12, set to a mobile device, iPhone seems to work best, click on the bookmarklet. The video opens in a new window. Right click on the video and then from the context menu that appears click save video as.
